Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is hiring for a Home Health Aide (HHA) in the 5 Cities area to provide personal care services, as necessary, to meet the patient’s needs. Position offers hourly pay of $20-$22 with weekly paychecks, plus comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA and PTO and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Meets all training requirements per state and federal laws when applicable
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with plan of care: baths, hygiene, dressing, feeding, etc.
• Take and record vital signs as ordered and monitor patient condition
• Safe transfer and ambulation; assist with ROM and therapy as ordered
• Handle patient laundry and maintain safety practices
• Communicate with client, family/caregiver and office clearly and consistently
• Observe and document patient condition and report changes to the nurse supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting patient with and per plan of care, the following:
  • Baths, Oral hygiene, Dressing and undressing, Toileting activities, feeding, etc
  • Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
  • Exercise according to the plan of care
  • Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Patient’s laundry
  • Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
  • Observation and teaching of home safety practices
  • Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures
• Must follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assigned
• Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office
• Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor
