Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support clients with personal care needs in the Irvine, CA area. The role focuses on mobility assistance, basic health tasks, and companionship while closely following care plans.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage ($18.00–$20.00) and benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA, and PTO, plus a 401(k) plan and recognition programs. Prior caregiving experience and certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, including clear and compassionate interaction with clients and families.
• Proficiency in basic computing tasks and documentation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program.
• Current BLS Card.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with day-to-day activities and personal care needs.
• Provide health care tasks and personal hygiene services.
• Assist with transfers and ambulation.
• Perform incidental household tasks as part of care plan.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in activities.
• Support development of independent self-care skills.
• Report changes in client status as directed by the care plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client’s health
• Assists with transfers and ambulation
• Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client
• Assists client in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
• Appropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by care plan
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Requirements:

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program
• One (1) year relevant experience preferred
• Current BLS Card
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
• Knowledge of child growth and development
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the home, school,local health agency, and other community resources
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to,supervisors, co-workers, clients) viastrong communicationskills; proficiency inthe English language may berequired
• Computer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of age
