Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is looking for a Home Health Aide to provide personal care to a client in their home. You will assist with baths, grooming, feeding, and daily activities, following the plan of care, while ensuring safety and reporting changes to the nurse supervisor.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, performing ROM as ordered, and maintaining patient laundry and home safety practices. Requires CPR certification and compliance with training requirements.

Qualifications

• Meets all training requirements per state and federal laws where applicable.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given.
• Must possess and maintain current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with baths, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting and feeding as per plan.
• Take and record temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered.
• Safe transfer and ambulation techniques.
• Exercise according to the plan of care and range of motion as ordered.
• Perform patient laundry and maintain safety with equipment.
• Observe and report changes to the assigned nurse supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting patient with and per plan of care, the following;
  • Baths, Oral hygiene, Dressing and undressing, Toileting activities, feeding, etc
  • Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
  • Exercise according to the plan of care
  • Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Patient's laundry
  • Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
  • Observation and teaching of home safety practices
  • Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures
• Must follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assigned
• Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office
• Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor

Requirements

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations
• Participation and completion of Maxims competency program
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
