Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. The role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

Responsibilities include managing ventilator care, conducting assessments, documenting outcomes, and training patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure in a respiratory role.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states served by the branch.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians.
• Educate patients and caregivers on ventilator use.
• Document patient care activities accurately in records.
• Collaborate with care teams to ensure safe home-based care.
