Job summary

AdaptHealth LLC seeks a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. This role blends hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to support safe outcomes outside the hospital.

Core duties include managing ventilators, performing assessments, discharge planning, and training patients and caregivers on equipment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure or as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all serviced states.
• CPR certification and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply knowledge of ventilators, HME products, and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Assist in discharge planning for ventilator dependent patients and ensure smooth home transitions.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on equipment use and care.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with peers and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
• Participate in on-call rotation as required.
