Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternative care settings. This field role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, coordinated outcomes outside the hospital.

You will work with care teams, perform assessments, manage ventilator equipment, and educate patients and caregivers while adhering to HIPAA and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and reassessments, including review of ventilator patient records and care plans.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients to home settings.
• Instruct patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator units and equipment use.
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources.
