Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Support Technician to provide comprehensive direct and indirect patient care across home, office, and hospital environments. You will set up PAP equipment, train patients, and collaborate with respiratory staff to ensure safe, effective care.

This role requires a high school diploma, knowledge of respiratory therapy or DME, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, travel within the service area, and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in Medicare certified HME environment preferred.
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy or DME is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Respiratory Department Staff and Program Managers to provide equipment instruction and troubleshooting.
• Set up and fit PAP patients with equipment and masks, communicating instructions clearly.
• Conduct patient follow-up calls/visits to ensure optimal care; escalate urgent needs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance checks and repairs per policy/guidelines.
• Report equipment hazards and product incidents per policies.
• Maintain knowledge of current Respiratory Programs and HME products/services.
• Complete all required paperwork including delivery tickets, safety checklists, and billing forms.
• Develop reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing documentation.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality per AdaptHealth policies.
• Adhere to PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
• Assist with quality improvement programs and promotion of services to referral sources.
