Job summary

Rite Rug Co is hiring a Home Remodel Designer - Mobile Showroom in Clintonville, Columbus. You will build relationships, conduct in-home consultations, measure spaces, present flooring and remodeling options, and guide customers through the sales process.

This role blends design consultation with estimating and project coordination, delivering an exceptional customer experience from initial consultation through installation completion.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home consultations using the Mobile Showroom.
• Build and maintain relationships with homeowners, realtors, and referrals.
• Identify customer needs and recommend flooring/remodeling solutions.
• Present product options, design recommendations, and proposals.
• Educate customers on products, installation processes, and warranties.
• Promote and sell Rite Rug products and services.
• Take measurements and prepare estimates.
• Coordinate project details with customers and internal teams.

Position Summary

The Home Remodel Designer - Mobile Showroom is responsible for building customer relationships, conducting in-home consultations, measuring project spaces, presenting remodeling and flooring solutions, and guiding customers through the entire sales process. This role combines design consultation, estimating, and project coordination to deliver an exceptional customer experience from initial consultation through installation completion.

Essential Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Consultation

• Conduct in-home consultations using our Mobile Showroom.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, realtors, and referral partners.
• Identify customer needs and recommend flooring and home remodeling solutions.
• Present product options, design recommendations, and project proposals.
• Educate customers on products, materials, installation processes, and warranties.
• Promote and sell all Rite Rug products and remodeling services.

Estimating & Project Planning

• Take accurate field measurements and evaluate project requirements.
• Assess project feasibility and identify installation or construction considerations.
• Prepare estimates and project pricing.
• Review floor plans and blueprints when applicable.
• Coordinate project details with customers and internal teams.

Customer Service

• Process customer payments according to company procedures.
• Follow up after project completion to ensure satisfaction.
• Generate referrals and repeat business through exceptional service.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and product knowledge.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong sales, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn company software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Flooring, remodeling, construction, or home improvement experience.
• Previous in-home sales experience.
• Experience taking field measurements and creating estimates.
• Knowledge of flooring products, kitchen and bath remodeling, or residential renovations.
• Experience with Measure Square, RFMS Measure, or similar estimating software.
• Blueprint reading and project management experience.
