Job summary

MACU is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to convert mortgage leads and guide members through the loan process. You will evaluate borrower eligibility, collect documents, and work closely with internal teams to ensure timely file submission and compliance with program guidelines.

The role requires handling credit reports, appraisals, and title work, with strong emphasis on customer service, accurate documentation, and clear communication with members and realtors.

Qualifications

• High school equivalent or two-year college degree required.
• Completion of a business or trade school program is a plus.
• NMLS licensing is required for mortgage loan originators.

Responsibilities

• Review leads and determine borrower eligibility through interviews and documents.
• Take complete loan applications and send files to corporate within 24 hours.
• Operate the Encompass LOS system and analyze credit reports and AUS.
• Order title reports/appraisals and review title insurance and appraisal reports.
• Communicate with members/realtors during the loan process and attend closings.
• Cross-sell credit union products and manage contract dates to avoid extensions.
