Qualifications

  • Ability to analyze financial and credit information and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews mortgage loan applications and interviews applicants to obtain and verify required information.
  • Analyzes borrower financial information, credit history, and property evaluations to determine loan feasibility and lending decisions.
  • Communicates with applicants, creditors, and internal departments to resolve questions and application issues.
  • Ensures loan documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and secondary market requirements.
  • Identifies lending opportunities and recommends appropriate loan and credit union products and services.
  • Collaborates with processors and other department personnel to facilitate timely loan processing and closing.
  • Performs related lending functions, including escrow analysis and data entry.
  • Maintains accuracy and confidentiality while following established lending and underwriting practices.
  • Provides professional, responsive member service and supports team objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two (2) to six (6) years of mortgage underwriting experience in a full-service financial institution; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending, underwriting, credit analysis, and real estate lending practices
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze financial and credit information and exercise sound judgment
  • Knowledge of applicable lending regulations, policies, procedures, and secondary market requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple applications and meet established processing timelines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment
