Job summary

State Employees' Credit Union seeks an Experienced Mortgage Loan Specialist to handle full real estate loan origination, underwriting, and servicing across channels. You will assess credit, determine approvals within tiered limits, and guide members through the process with clarity and professional communication.

Responsibilities include counseling buyers, verifying income docs, and collaborating with leadership to maintain mortgage volume while staying compliant with policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree or CCUE/associates preferred.
• Complete RELP courses and exam before moving to this role.
• Minimum 2 years mortgage lending experience preferred.
• Must have current lending authority and MLO eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in real estate loan origination across delivery channels.
• Underwrite and approve/deny real estate loan applications within limits.
• Communicate decisions clearly to members and document history in LOS.
• Counsel homebuyers and obtain required documentation for loan approval.
• Collaborate with RELO leadership and provide member referrals for services.
