Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes, clinics, and care settings. You will educate patients and caregivers, ensure comfort, safety and independence, and participate in on-call rotation in the assigned area.

The role emphasizes knowledge of HME products, patient assessments, and adherence to HIPAA and infection control standards, with a strong focus on safety and quality improvement

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service, field-based, delivery, or healthcare experience preferred.
• One (1) year of healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer service interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two (2) years of relevant experience, including one (1) year in a similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and re-assessments to support ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards, including PPE use.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment per policies and safety standards.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs; report hazards or incidents as required.
• Process orders and complete documentation timely to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Promote company services and products to referral sources as appropriate.
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all policies.
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
