Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, install, and support respiratory and home medical equipment for patients in their homes, clinics, or other care settings. You will educate patients and caregivers while ensuring safety, comfort, and independence.

The role is primarily field-based with daily home visits; entails maintaining equipment, following HIPAA and safety standards, and coordinating with referral sources to support patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of healthcare technician or related experience preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
• Experience with home medical equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment at patient locations.
• Respond to equipment issues, including emergencies when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems during patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and PPE usage.
• Process orders and complete documentation for patient care and reimbursement.
• Promote company services to referral sources.
