Job summary

AdaptHealth LLC is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to safely deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes, clinics, or other care settings. You will educate patients and caregivers to ensure comfort, safety, and independence.

Primarily field-based with daily home visits, this role requires strong customer service, a valid driver’s license, and adherence to HIPAA and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
• One year of healthcare technician or related experience preferred; two years for senior levels.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and re-assessments to support ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe use, care, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including emergencies when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment per policy and safety standards.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Promote company services and products to referral sources as appropriate.
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all policies.
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on-call rotation.
