Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in New York, NY seeks a Senior Mortgage Lending Officer to originate high quality residential real estate loans. You will work with branch partners, operations, and referral sources to drive mortgage sales and deliver excellent client service.

Responsibilities include evaluating financial information, explaining loan options, and guiding customers through the loan process to timely closings, while maintaining compliance.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of mortgage experience required.
• 1+ year sales/credit/finance experience required.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred.
• Ability to explain pricing and documents clearly.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about their financial situation, objectives, and lending needs.
• Collect and analyze information about the customer's financial situation, goals, risk tolerance, and credit history.
• Analyze financial information to assess whether the customer and property may qualify for a lending solution.
• Make recommendations on lending solutions to meet objectives.
• Advise customers about consequences, risks, and benefits of lending options.
• Promote Citi's brand and mortgage services to real estate agents and referral sources.
• Visit customers outside Citi's offices as needed based on geography and client base.
• Collaborate with internal partners to support and grow customer relationships.
• Refer customers to Citi professionals for other financial services.
• Partner with Operations to ensure smooth loan processing and timely closings.
• Go outside to key referral relationships to drive mortgage business into Citi.
• Maintain risk controls and comply with laws and Citi policies.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and Citi teams to drive new business.
• Introduce Citi Wealth Teams to clients to expand relationships.
• Stay informed about local market trends and regulatory changes.
