Job summary

Your Talent Team seeks a Home Infusion Compounding Technician to assist in sterile preparation and patient supply assembly under pharmacist supervision. You will help maintain sterile competencies, label drugs, monitor environmental conditions, and manage inventory to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

Adherence to USP 797, SOPs, and Board of Pharmacy regulations is essential. Strong documentation, teamwork, and communication with colleagues, patients, and referral sources are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meet all State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
• Completion of pharmacy technician training preferred.
• Experience in compounding or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Registered with the State Board of Pharmacy if applicable in state(s) of service area(s).

Responsibilities

• Perform sterile compounding per USP 797.
• Follow all SOPs, USP 797, and Board of Pharmacy regulations and requirements.
• Clean all work surfaces, equipment, floors, ceilings, and walls according to USP 797 and SOPs.
• Maintain sterile compounding competencies.
• Assure that all drugs prepared by the pharmacy are prepared in appropriate containers that are adequately labeled.
• Monitor and document environmental conditions daily – such as temperatures, humidity, and pressure readings. Notify the PIC immediately when readings are out of range.
• Accurately maintain On Track Task Logs daily.
• Manage timely refills to ensure patients receive their treatments without interruption.
• Upload delivery tickets into Care Tend. Confirm delivery tickets when a signed Admission Agreement is on file.
• Conduct patient follow-up assessment calls and complete thorough documentation to ensure all pertinent information is recorded.
• Efficiently order medication to keep inventory well-stocked, and patient needs met.
• Enter supplies into the inventory system (Vital Systems).
• Properly store drugs and supplies to uphold safety standards and maintain an organized workspace.
• Routinely inspect shelves for any supplies that need reordering, preventing any shortages.
• Conduct a monthly inventory of all supplies stored in the ambulatory infusion suite.
• Promptly report any misconduct, suspicious, or unethical activities to Human Resources.
• Build positive relationships with clients by providing attentive, friendly, and proactive support.
• Exhibit good written and verbal communication with colleagues, supervisors, patients, and referral sources.
• Assist with quality control and performance improvement activities as directed by the PIC.
• Report product incidents as required by company policy.
• Work as a team with other employees to ensure tasks are completed.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
