Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Home Infusion Compounding Technician in Charleston, SC to assist with sterile preparation and patient supply assembly under the supervision of a pharmacist.

The role requires adherence to USP 797, SOPs, and Board of Pharmacy rules; responsibilities include environmental monitoring, inventory management, and timely patient refills, with a focus on safety and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meet all State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
• Completion of pharmacy technician training preferred.
• Experience in compounding or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Registered with the State Board of Pharmacy if applicable in state(s) of service area(s).

Responsibilities

• Perform sterile compounding per USP 797.
• Follow all SOPs, USP 797, and Board of Pharmacy regulations and requirements.
• Maintain sterile compounding competencies.
• Assure proper labeling and containers for prepared drugs.
• Monitor and document environmental conditions daily; notify PIC if readings are out of range.
• Maintain On Track Task Logs daily.
• Manage timely refills to ensure patient treatments are uninterrupted.
• Upload delivery tickets into Care Tend and confirm on signed Admission Agreement.
• Conduct patient follow-up assessment calls and document thoroughly.
• Order medication to keep inventory well-stocked and meeting patient needs.
• Enter supplies into Vital Systems inventory system.
• Store drugs and supplies to uphold safety standards.
• Inspect shelves for supplies needing reordering to prevent shortages.
• Conduct monthly inventory of ambulatory infusion supplies.
• Report misconduct or unethical activities to HR.
• Build positive relationships with clients with attentive, friendly support.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, patients, and referral sources.
• Assist with quality control and performance improvement as directed by the PIC.
• Report product incidents as required by policy.
• Work as a team to ensure tasks are completed.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
