Job summary

Caretenders Home Health, part of LHC Group and UnitedHealth Group family, is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). The PTA will perform treatments, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients under the plan of care. Responsibilities include following state PT laws, guiding patients in exercises, coordinating with the care team, educating families, and ensuring care in diverse home settings. Weekend availability is required; CPR may be preferred.

Qualifications

• Current license/registration to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Valid driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home PT; work only within plan of care and suggest changes to supervising PT.
• Instruct patients in active/passive exercises, gait, ADL, transfers, safety and prosthetic training.
• Observe and report patient responses; coordinate care with the health care team.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver on therapy within PTA scope.
• Function effectively in any home setting regardless of patient background.
