Job summary

Caretenders, a part of LHC Group and UnitedHealth Group family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education in the home care setting.

Primary responsibilities include following state laws, assisting the supervising PT, guiding patients in exercises, coordinating with the healthcare team, and delivering care across diverse home environments. This role supports growth within a national organization.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care and implement the plan of care as defined by the supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and prosthetic training.
• Observe and report patient's response to treatment and coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers about therapy within the scope of the PTA.
• Function effectively in diverse home environments and uphold patient dignity and safety.
