Job summary

VitalCaring is seeking a Field-Based Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to deliver hands-on, patient-centered care in patients' homes across Texas. You’ll work one-on-one with clients, implementing individualized plans of care and guiding mobility, balance, and functional tasks to promote independence.

You'll collaborate with a PT and care team, document progress in the EMR, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current PTA license or certification as required by state law.
• 1+ year of experience preferred (home health experience a plus).
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Follow individualized plans of care to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, and functional mobility.
• Support patients with transfers, strengthening, and activities of daily living.
• Utilize modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as appropriate.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and use of assistive devices.
