Job summary

VitalCaring is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to deliver hands-on, patient-centered care in home health visits across Texas. You will work one-on-one with patients, implementing plans of care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to restore mobility and independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program.
• Current PTA license or certification as required by state law.
• 1+ year of home health experience preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Follow individualized plans of care to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, and functional mobility
• Support patients with transfers, strengthening, and activities of daily living
• Utilize therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as appropriate
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and use of assistive devices
• Observe and report patient progress, response to treatment, and any changes in condition
• Maintain EMR documentation and coordinate with care team
• Communicate effectively with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary care team
• Participate in team meetings, in-services, and ongoing training
• Uphold clinical standards and contribute to quality improvement efforts
