Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education to improve patient well-being within an established plan of care in home health settings.

Primary responsibilities include following state laws, assisting the supervising Physical Therapist, instructing patients and families, and coordinating care with the healthcare team. Requires current PTA licensure/certification and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care; follow treatment as defined by supervising PT; make recommendations for changes in plan of care.
• Instructs and aids patients in exercises, gait, functional activities, transfers, and safety.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment to supervising PT and other health-care team members.
• Instructs patient and family in therapy within the scope of PTA.
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of patient demographics.
