Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under the plan of care. The role includes home care visits, coordination with the supervising Physical Therapist, and ensuring safe patient handling.

The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified external new hires and a comprehensive benefits package with mileage reimbursement. Weekend rotation availability is required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in physical therapy.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care and implement treatment as defined by supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in exercise, gait, ADLs, transfers, and prosthetic training.
• Observe and report patient responses and coordinate care with the health team.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within PTA scope.
• Function in diverse home situations regardless of client background.
