Job summary

Mederi Caretenders, part of the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home-based therapy under a supervising PT. This role emphasizes exercise instruction, patient education, and improving patient well-being within the plan of care.

Responsibilities include following state laws, performing prescribed exercises, coordinating with the care team, and educating patients and families. Weekend availability is required. Benefits and competitive compensation are provided.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Follow state PT home care laws and plan of care set by supervising PT
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer and mobility training
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate with supervising PT and health team
• Instruct patient, family, and caregivers in therapy within the scope of practice
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of age, race, creed, or disability
