Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver skilled care in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will implement plans of care that improve mobility and independence while promoting safety and quality of life at home.

Requirements include CAPTE-accredited PTA education, active PTA license in the state, CPR certification, and 1+ year home health experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license to practice as a PTA in the assigned state.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ years of PTA experience in home health care or equivalent.
• If less than one year of experience, regional clinical leaders' approval and mentoring/ residency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed PT.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment.
• Support recovery and quality of life at home with patient, caregiver, and interdisciplinary team.
• Document supervisory activities in the patient’s medical record.
• Monitor and document patient progress and response to therapy.
• Participate in patient care conferences, in-services, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Make follow-up care recommendations coordinating with admitting agency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
