Job summary

Amedisys, Inc. is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide skilled PTA services in a home health setting. You will work under a supervising PT and follow an approved plan of care, documenting patient progress and outcomes to support ongoing treatment and wellness.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care at home, confidentiality, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams. Licensing and CPR are required, with experience in home health preferred.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a PTA in the assigned state.
• Graduation from CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Minimum one year PTA experience in home health or approval from regional leaders if less.
• CPR certification is current.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed PT and per plan of care.
• Observes and documents patient responses to treatment and any progression.
• Provides resources for future needs and promotes wellness and prevention.
• Documents supervisory activities in the medical record.
• Monitors patient response to therapy and progress.
• Participates in care conferences, in-services, audits, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations coordinating with the admitting agency and other providers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in assigned state

Graduate from CAPTE-accredited PTA program
