Job summary

AMEDISYS HOME HEALTH is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to provide PT services in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed PT. You will document progress, communicate with the care team, and participate in quality improvement activities.

The ideal candidate holds an active PTA license in the assigned state, is CAPTE-certified, and has CPR certification. This full-time role offers a day schedule and comprehensive benefits to support patient care at home.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the state where you work.
• Graduate from an accredited PTA educational program as per CAPTE.
• One year related PTA experience for home health, or approval/mentoring if less than one year.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under the supervision of a PT and per the plan of care.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment to supervising PT and clinical staff.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and documents supervisory activities.
• Documents patient progress and facilitates coordination with care team.
• Recommends follow-up care and coordinates referrals with the admitting agency.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and team meetings.
