Job summary

Residential Home Health and Hospice is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide skilled care in patients' homes within Chambersburg, PA. The role requires a PTA license and at least one year of PTA experience, plus a valid driver’s license for travel.

You will work under a licensed PT, document in EMR, and help patients regain mobility and independence with therapeutic exercises and gait training. Travel is required within the assigned territory.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state you work.
• One year of PTA experience delivering patient care.
• Valid driver’s license required for travel to patient homes.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered Physical Therapy services in the home health setting under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

• Support patients in restoring mobility, reducing pain, and maximizing functional independence through therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, muscle re-education, and prosthetic or orthotic support.

• Educate patients and caregivers on the safe use of mobility and assistive devices, while monitoring progress and communicating patient responses and condition changes to the care team.

• Think critically, solve problems in real time, and ensure thorough, compliant EMR documentation

• Work independently, but never alone

• Travel to patient homes within assigned territory

PTA Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA license in the state you work

• One year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant and the clinical expertise to deliver quality patient care

• Due to the field-based nature of this home health position, a valid driver’s license and the ability to spend approximately 20% of your workday driving to and from patient locations are required.
