Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients, focusing on maintaining and improving daily living activities through individualized therapy plans. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team, manage caseloads, and ensure adherence to state regulations.

The role includes teaching adaptive techniques and coordinating with OTA staff. Responsibilities include home and facility visits, patient education, and ongoing assessment of treatment efficacy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Typically requires 3 years of experience in occupational therapy within an acute hospital, home health care, or other relevant environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to work independently with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and establish a plan of care.
• Plan and implement individualized OT treatment to retrain and teach compensatory techniques for ADLs.
• Communicate caseload changes and plans with physicians and management; update status regularly.
• Coordinate with physicians and team members to update treatment plans and provide status reports.
• Manage caseload, scheduling, and supervision of OTA; ensure compliance with Wisconsin regulations.
• Teach patients and caregivers adaptive techniques and equipment and advocate for optimal outcomes.
• Perform patient positioning, transfers, and lifts safely according to protocols.
