Job summary

Interim Healthcare of NEPA is seeking a School Based Home Health Aide (HHA) to attend school and provide in-home support to students with special needs in the Tunkhannock, PA area. Pediatric experience and experience with Downs/Autism are required.

The role includes hands-on personal care, reporting changes, and following care plans within HIPAA guidelines. Hours are Monday–Friday, with some travel between school and home and potential summer activities.

Qualifications

• Must have a Highschool Diploma or GED.
• Must have one (1) year experience with Pediatrics.
• Must have one (1) year experience working with Special Needs.
• Must have a reliable form of transportation.
• Must be willing to undergo pre-employment screenings such as drug screening, criminal background checks, fingerprints, child abuse history, physical, etc.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Attend school with a pediatric client who has a special need.
• Potential travel with client from home to school and school to home.
• Report incidents to classroom teacher and designated home care supervisor.
• Follow care plan and maintain proper documentation according to Pennsylvania State Laws.
• Follow HIPAA standards.
• Provide quality care and a safe environment.

Covering school and home time with pediatric clients in Tunkhannock, PA

Interim Healthcare of NEPA is seeking a School Based Home Health Aide HHA to attend school and provide support in-home to students with special needs in the Tunkhannock, PA area. MUST HAVE PEDIATRIC EXPERIENCE AND EXPERIENCE WITH DOWNS/AUTISM!

School Based Home Health Aides HHAs are members of the interdisciplinary team who provide hands-on personal care, report changes in the client’s condition, perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, and provide incidental/instrumental activities of daily living to clients in the home setting as evaluated/delegated and as permitted by the policies and procedures of Interim Healthcare and any other federal, state and local law or regulation.

Job Details for the School Based Home Care Aide (HCA):

• Up to $17 per hour
• Location(s): Tunkhannock, PA & Falls, PA
• Monday through Friday Day Shift
• ride transportation to and from school
• Home time when school is not in session; half days, holidays, snow days, summertime
• May be required to attend summer camp with client
• 1:1 employee to patient ratio
