Job summary

MIDFLORIDA Credit Union in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Home Equity Lending Specialist to review and process equity loans, prepare disclosures, and coordinate title work and appraisals. The role requires meticulous attention to policy guidelines and strong customer service with members and branch staff.

The position is in-office and requires 1–2 years of Home Equity Lending experience, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred and MLO eligibility under SAFE Act.

Qualifications

• Experience with loan underwriting and secondary market guidelines.
• The eligibility to meet the requirements of the SAFE Act to be registered as an MLO with NMLS.

Responsibilities

• Review loans to ensure policy compliance and resolve issues with loan officers.
• Prepare and review initial disclosures for accuracy.
• Order title work, appraisals, flood certificates, and homeowners insurance for pending loans; communicate with branches and members.
• Review title searches, appraisals, flood determinations, and homeowners insurance policies.
• Communicate with branches and members about title issues or mortgage concerns.
• Gather payoff addresses and obtain payoff statements when needed.
• Audit files for accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
• Provide technical solutions in support of MIDFLORIDA's electronic services.
• Meet productivity and quality metrics; maintain professional communications across departments.
