Job summary

Georgia United Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Loan Origination professional to participate in all steps of home equity loan origination, review applications, interview applicants, and process initial documentation for loan requests.

Qualifications

• 2 years: Minimum 2 years’ experience in mortgage loan origination and processing.
• Knowledge of mortgage loan processing functions.
• Knowledge of mortgage related requirements, procedures and underwriting criteria.
• Solid math and calculation skills.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet, and Email.

Responsibilities

• Participates in all steps related to the origination of home equity loan products, including reviewing new loan applications and processing preliminary documentation.
• Discusses loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates and loan documentation in a positive, professional manner.
• Prepares and issues conditional loan approvals for Borrowers and follows up as necessary.
• Counsels members regarding money management and financial matters, offering alternatives if applicable.
• Resolves loan application problems and assists applicants with credit report issues and high debt ratios.
• Keeps management informed of area activities and supports related lending initiatives.
