Job summary

MIDFLORIDA Credit Union in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Home Equity Lending Specialist to review and process equity loans, prepare disclosures, and coordinate title work and appraisals. The role requires meticulous attention to policy guidelines and strong customer service with members and branch staff.

The position is in-office and requires 1–2 years of Home Equity Lending experience, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred and MLO eligibility under SAFE Act.

Responsibilities

• Review loans to ensure policy compliance and resolve issues with loan officers.
• Prepare and review initial disclosures for accuracy.
• Order title work, appraisals, flood certificates, and homeowners insurance for pending loans; communicate with branches and members.
• Review title searches, appraisals, flood determinations, and homeowners insurance policies.
• Communicate with branches and members about title issues or mortgage concerns.
• Gather payoff addresses and obtain payoff statements when needed.
• Audit files for accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
• Provide technical solutions in support of MIDFLORIDA's electronic services.
• Meet productivity and quality metrics; maintain professional communications across departments.

Home Equity Lending Specialists perform the following functions:

• Review loans that are sent for processing to ensure the loan meets policy guidelines. Address any issues with loan officers if needed.
• Prepare and review initial disclosures for accuracy.
• Order all title work, appraisals, flood certificates, and homeowners insurance for pending loans. Communicate with appropriate branch personnel as well as the members.
• Review all title searches, appraisals, flood determinations and homeowners insurance policies once received.
• Communicate with appropriate branch personnel and contact members regarding title issues or other mortgage-related concerns.
• Gather accurate payoff addresses and, when necessary, obtain payoff statements from members or lenders.
• Audit files for complete accuracy and compliance with secondary market guidelines.
• Exercise sound judgment and discretion while remaining compliant with well-defined limits and guidelines.
• Deliver problem solving solutions and perform research as needed.
• Provide technical solutions in support of MIDFLORIDAs electronic services.
• Accountable for meeting productivity and quality metrics.
• Professional and efficient communications with all departments promoting synergy.
• Exhibit a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism always.
