Job summary

Senior Helpers of Columbia seeks an organized Scheduler to plan and coordinate caregiver assignments for clients. You will manage schedules, respond to emergencies, and ensure timely updates to families while maintaining service quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience in customer service preferred.
• Minimum of one year in staffing/scheduling/logistics.
• Knowledge of home care/healthcare staffing preferred.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Quick-thinking and astute decision-making skills.
• Team player with strong verbal communication and adaptability.
• Experience using multi-line phones and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and creative-solution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manages workload based on goals, initiative, and prioritization.
• Select, schedule, and coordinate caregivers based on assessment and care plan information for new and existing clients; maintain gross margins.
• Maintain scheduling of caregivers; resolve conflicts, emergencies, and call-outs; keep schedule three days ahead.
• Communicate caregiver changes and updates to clients/families.
• Track scheduling changes in company software.
• Accept on-call duty averaging two weeks per month.
• Provide input to hiring needs to internal staff.
• Audit timecards to ensure hours match scheduled hours.
• Identify and solve problems; exercise good judgment.
• Coordinate back-fill for tardiness or absences.
• Act as point of contact with client family regarding schedules.
• Maintain rapport with clients and caregivers; promote positive relationships.
• Collaborate with supervisor to resolve complaints, incidents, and injuries.
