Job summary

Addus Homecare in New Mexico is urgently hiring Home Care Aides - Core to support seniors and people with disabilities living in their homes. The role is on call for 5 days per week, with 40 hours total and 20 hours guaranteed.

Work schedule is set by the supervisor and includes at least one weekend day. Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, and transportation to appointments.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Nurturing and compassionate by nature, with a desire to care for others.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow instructions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• On-call for 24-hour shifts; 5 days per week with at least one weekend day.
• 40 hours per week with 20 hours guaranteed.

Responsibilities

• The Home Care Aide - Core calls into the office every morning for assignment.
• Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal prep, and laundry.
• Transport client to doctor's appointments, grocery store and other errands.
• Assist client with self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report changes in client’s condition.
