Job summary

Addus HomeCare in New Mexico is urgently hiring a Flex Home Care Aide - Core to support seniors and people with disabilities at home who need daily assistance. The on-call role is five days per week (40 hours; 20 hours guaranteed) with schedules set by a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation; if driving, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• On-call 24 hours and 5 days per week, including at least one weekend day.
• Nurturing, compassionate nature with the ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Call into the office every morning for assignments.
• Follow care plans and report on completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Transport client to doctor's appointments, grocery store, and other errands.
• Assist client with the self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report changes in the client's condition.
