Job summary

Addus Homecare in New Mexico is urgently hiring Flex Home Care Aides (HCAs) to support seniors and disabled clients living at home. The role involves a 40-hour work week with on-call duties and assignments determined by a supervisor.

A weekend day is required as part of the schedule. You will follow care plans, assist with daily activities, provide transportation to errands, and help with medications while reporting changes to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance if traveling by car.
• On call for 24 hour shifts with 5 days per week work, including one weekend day.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions with good communication skills.
• Nurturing, compassionate, and well-organized with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Call the office every morning for assignment.
• Follow care plans and report completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meals, and laundry.
• Transport client to appointments and errands.
• Assist with self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report changes in client condition.
