Job summary

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors LLC (SIMCO) is seeking a Hoisting Supervisor for the WIPP site in Carlsbad, NM. The role oversees hoisting crews, shaft infrastructure, and regulatory compliance at the underground facility.

Qualified candidates will have a related degree or substantial experience in mine hoisting, with US work authorization and DOE badge eligibility. The position offers full-time hours, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits. Relocation may be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree with four years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight years of relevant experience is required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without SIMCO visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site.
• Non-U.S. citizens from certain countries may be subject to additional security requirements that limit site access.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily hoist operations to ensure personnel safety and access to the WIPP Underground.
• Provide operational support to hoisting operation crews.
• Ensure compliance with MSHA/local mining acts and company safety policies.
• Lead and mentor hoisting supervisors, technicians, and maintenance crews.
• Directly supervise hoisting personnel and assign tasks with proper procedures.
• Perform daily or weekly inspections according to statutory requirements.
• Ensure all work is done under lockout/tagout procedures and safety gear is used.
• Coordinate with maintenance planners to ensure timely repairs.
• Maintain shift logs, production reports, and incident reports.
• Lead and/or assist in-field response to incidents.
