Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an activities advisor to plan and communicate about a weekly ultimate frisbee program. You will announce start and end times, publish flyers for the newsletter, and coordinate with families using Parent Square or email. You’ll lead practices, teach rules, and foster teamwork while ensuring safety and proper equipment management.

You will also handle attendance, rosters, and mid/end-of-term reporting, and stay for student pick-up as needed.

• Must communicate with parents via Parent Square or email, coordinating schedules and changes.

Responsibilities

• Plan announcements for the start and end of the activity and provide updates as needed.
• Create digital (PNG/JPEG) and print flyers for the weekly newsletter and posting in designated spots.
• Deliver announcements (morning audio and for The Den).
• Attend regular meetings at 7:00–8:00am or 3:00–4:00pm (or later).
• Be present at location before start and supervise students after school until pickup.
• Request custodial assistance with sufficient notice when appropriate.
• Maintain roster and attendance and report at midpoint and end of activity.
• Teach and coach ultimate frisbee, train players in rules and skills, foster teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Manage equipment and ensure participant safety.

  • Create digital (PNG/JPEG formats only) and print flyer(s) for the weekly newsletter and posting in designated spots.
  • Announcements (morning audio and for The Den)
• Regular meetings between either 7:00am - 8:00am or 3:00pm - 4:00pm (or later if applicable). Be in location prior to start. If after school, stay with all students until all are picked up.
• Communicate via Parent Square or Email with the parent of the club members regarding schedule, schedule changes and cancellations. Please give as much notice as possible when canceling and be sure this information is communicated to the parents, not just announced in the building.
• Setup and cleanup the area used for the activity.
• • Please request custodial assistance, with sufficient notice, when appropriate.
• Maintain roster and attendance of students, submit or share at midpoint and end of activity.
• Our ultimate frisbee advisors are responsible for teaching students the rules and skills of the game, organizing and leading practices, and coaching the team during games. They are also tasked with fostering sportsmanship and teamwork, managing equipment, and ensuring the safety of all participants.

Minimum of 20 Hours

• ½ Stipend Paid in December, ½ Paid in June
