Sylvania is looking for advisors for the 8th-grade council in Easton, Connecticut. This role involves planning and communicating activities, holding meetings, and fostering leadership among students. Responsibilities include organizing fundraising events and maintaining attendance records.
There is a minimum commitment of 75 hours, with a stipend paid in two installments—half in December and half in June. This position is key to facilitating the end-of-year picnic and trip.
Our 8th-grade council advisors provide and develop leadership skills and foster agency of the involved students. They help to facilitate the annual toy drive with Curielle School (or other similar school), and facilitate two annual fundraising events, the Pancake Breakfast and Pasta Dinner. They help students facilitate a class legacy gift/project while maintaining all related financial responsibilities.
The advisors help students to plan their end of year picnic as well as assist with the end of year trip and closing ceremony.
