Job summary
Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Histotechnician to prepare tissue specimens by sectioning, staining and mounting for microscopic examination by the Pathologist. This role operates under CLIA ’88 guidelines and supports the Pathologist with various examinations.
The position includes quality control, quality assurance, maintenance and troubleshooting. Duties may also involve clerical tasks, specimen collection and related laboratory services, with HT certification required within one year
Qualifications
- Completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program or an Associate degree that includes 12 hours in biology and chemistry, or 60 semester hours with biology and chemistry and 1 year of histopathology experience.
- Must obtain HT certification within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities
- Section, stain and mount tissue specimens for microscopic examination by the Pathologist.
- Assist the Pathologist in examinations on submitted tissue specimens and preparations.
- Follow CLIA ’88 guidelines in all duties.
- Perform quality control, quality assurance, maintenance and troubleshooting.
