Job summary

Baptist Health Louisville seeks a dedicated Histotechnician to prepare tissue specimens for microscopic exam, perform staining and mounting, and support pathologists under CLIA '88 guidelines. You will assist with quality control, QA, maintenance, and may handle clerical tasks and specimen collection as part of a busy histology lab.

Minimum requirements include NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program or equivalent education, and HT certification within one year.

Qualifications

• Completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program or Associate degree that includes 12 hours in both biology and chemistry
• OR
• At least 60 semester hours, including 12 biology and chemistry, with 1 year histopathology experience
• Must obtain HT certification within 1 year after eligibility

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens by sectioning, staining and mounting for microscopic examination
• Perform quality control, QA, maintenance and troubleshooting per CLIA ’88 guidelines
• May assist with clerical tasks, specimen collection and related laboratory services
