Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Histotechnologist (HT/HTL) to perform tissue processing, staining, and frozen-section work across multiple sites including Center City Charlotte, Pineville, and Concord.

Candidates must be enrolled in an HT or HTL ASCP program or hold certification with relevant experience; uncertified HT with 3+ years of experience is also considered. Part-time schedule; per diem coverage may apply.

Qualificações

• Currently enrolled in a HT or HTL (ASCP) program and must obtain certification within one year of completing program or one year from hire date
• Certified HT or HTL (ASCP) and one year of experience is required
• An uncertified HT with a minimum of three years of experience is required

Responsabilidades

• Performs frozen section preparations within expected time while ensuring tissue is embedded properly, cut accurately, and stained correctly so that diagnosis to clinician can be made promptly.
• Performs routine, special stains, and immune histochemical stains.
• Recognizes deviations from expected results and uses judgment in determining appropriate actions.
• Assists with autopsies according to standard procedures as assigned.
• Prepares and organizes tissue specimens and assists in gross examination.
• Prepares specimens to be sent to other laboratories for testing ensuring order accuracy and correct lab is chosen for testing.
• Stores or disposes of prepared specimens, slides, and blocks in a neat retrievable manner.
• Completes required daily procedures with accuracy.

Formação académica

HT or HTL (ASCP) certification within 1 year

Certified HT or HTL (ASCP) with 1 year of experience

Uncertified HT with 3+ years experience
