Job summary

Capital Health System, Inc. is seeking a Histotechnologist to perform routine processing, microtomy, staining, and immunohistochemistry for pathologic diagnosis. Training provided for grossing and simple procedures as needed.

Requirements include an associate degree (bachelor's preferred) and HT/ASCP certification or within one year of employment. Prior histology experience is preferred; strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail in histology procedures.
• Ability to interpret varied instructions and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Prepares routine surgical pathology specimens for microscopic diagnosis.
• Performs processing, embedding, microtomy, H&E staining and frozen sectioning.
• Performs immunohistochemical stains per protocol and maintains QA records.
• Assists in tissue grossing and prepares cytology specimens for processing.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ensures infection control and adheres to safety standards.
