Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Histotechnologist to perform routine processing, microtomy and staining for surgical and cytology specimens in the anatomic pathology lab in Hopewell, NJ. The role includes immunohistochemistry, tissue preparation and documentation to ensure accurate diagnostic results.

The ideal candidate will hold an HT/ASCP certification (or within one year of employment) and have an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred) with 1 year of clinical histology experience; 10 years can

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• HT/ASCP certification required or within one year of employment.
• 1 year experience as Histotechnologist preferred; 10 years in histology in lieu of Bachelor’s.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine processing, embedding, microtomy and H&E staining.
• Performs immunohistochemistry and special stains as per protocol.
• Maintains records for quality control and equipment maintenance.
• Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshoots issues.
• Adheres to infection control practices and departmental policies.
• Assists with tissue grossing and frozen sections as trained.
