Job summary

Unio Health Partners seeks a Histotechnician II per diem to prepare tissue specimens for examination by pathologists and researchers. This role requires precision in histology techniques and strict attention to quality.

Responsibilities include accessioning, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and maintaining CAP/CLIA-compliant records. A scientific degree and five years in anatomic pathology are needed; ASCP HT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific/chemistry field or AS/AA in science or chemistry.
• Five years of experience in an anatomic pathology laboratory with gross, embedding, cutting, staining.
• ASCP Histotechnician (HT) certification (HTL) preferred.
• Knowledge of CDPH, CLIA, CAP, and State and Federal laws applicable to moderate to high complexity labs.
• Knowledge of histological techniques, staining methods, and laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, and cutting blocks of pathology specimens.
• Daily participation in routine histology lab operations ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshooting histology equipment and communicating issues to supervisor.
• Maintains daily records and equipment maintenance logs per CAP/CLIA.
• Checks all work for accuracy and quality.
• Data entry for Vital Access Lab information system.
