Job summary

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, VA seeks a Restaurant Cook to join its historic dining program. Responsibilities include cooking in a fast-paced kitchen, following recipes, and maintaining high standards of food safety and guest service.

Qualified candidates will have at least one year of restaurant experience or culinary training; certification from a culinary program is preferred. Applicants must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays and obtain a local food

Qualifications

• 1 year of restaurant experience
• Certification from Culinary Program or Technical School

Responsibilities

• Certificate in Culinary Arts from a technical school.
• At least one year restaurant cooking experience (formal culinary training will substitute for 1 year work experience on an equal time basis).
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays ranging from 5 a.m. to midnight
• Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a current Williamsburg James City County food handlers card; applicants with an active food handler's card should be prepared to present it during the interview process.
• Ability to: (1) interact with guests and co-workers in a professional manner; (2) read food orders and production charts; (3) maintain standards listed below
• STANDARDS: Maintain a positive, enthusiastic outlook; smile and greet guests, employees, managers, and supervisors; show respect for and cooperate at all times with those for whom and with whom you work; report to work as scheduled and on time; meet appearance standards; perform assigned tasks accurately and on time.
