Job summary

Actalent in Everett, WA is seeking a Histology Technician to prepare and analyze tissue samples for histopathology. You will embed, process, section, stain, and quality-check slides in a 100% GLP lab setting.

The role requires 1–4 years in histology/pathology, a high school diploma or GED (BS preferred), and proficiency with MS Office. This is a permanent onsite position with potential for shift variations and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED; a BS in Biology is preferred.
• 1–4 years of histology/pathology experience.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Experience with paraffin tissue work and tissue processing.
• Strong microtomy skills and knowledge of staining procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process quality tissue samples for histopathologic evaluation.
• Identify tissue samples for proper embedding orientation and perform paraffin embedding.
• Utilize microtomy skills to prepare routine microscope slides per SOP.
• Perform routine H&E staining and cover slipping of slides.
• Prepare reagents and perform non-routine histochemical staining procedures.
• Conduct quality control procedures on all prepared slides.
• Troubleshoot equipment and operations to minimize interruptions.
• Analyze raw data and resolve deviations in SOPs.
• Assist with revision of SOPs and contribute to process improvement.
• Manage inventory and data entry in lab records; handle hazardous materials.
