Altasciences is seeking a Histology Technician to prepare high-quality tissue samples for histopathologic evaluation. The role includes tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining and quality control to ensure accurate study results.

You will maintain GLP, manage equipment and reagents, and contribute to SOP updates and inventory records while upholding a clean, safe laboratory environment.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Maintain and document the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment and a safe, clean and orderly laboratory environment.
• Perform trimming of fixed tissues, and paraffin tissue processing procedures.
• Identify required tissue sample orientation and perform paraffin embedding procedures.
• Use microtomy skills in the preparation of routine microscopic slides according to SOPs or study protocols.
• Prepare stains/reagents according to SOPs and protocol requirements.
• Perform routine H&E staining as well as cover slipping slides.
• Prepare reagents/stains for non-routine histochemical procedures.
• Perform quality control procedures on all prepared microscope slides.
• Troubleshoot equipment/operation failures and minimize interruptions.
• Analyze raw data and resolve deviations from SOPs/protocols.
• Assist with revision of SOPs as needed.
• Contribute to process development and quality improvement.
• Order warehouse supplies and enter data into inventory records.
• Dispose hazardous chemicals and maintain lab hazardous chemical records.
