Advocate Health is seeking a Histology Technician for the Baycare Medical Center: Histology department in Wisconsin. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, 2nd shift (1300-2130) Monday–Friday with occasional weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include accessioning and labeling specimens, embedding tissue in paraffin, processing, staining, and assisting pathologists. ASCP HT certification and biology-related education are required; no prior experience needed.

Qualificações

• HT certification required by ASCP BOC.
• Advanced training in Biology or related field.
• No prior experience required.
• Detail-oriented with good manual dexterity.

Responsabilidades

• Accession and label specimens; prepare tissue sections for testing.
• Embed tissue in paraffin; maintain blocks, slides, and wet tissue.
• Process tissue to ensure preservation and infiltration with paraffin.
• Perform routine stains, immunohistochemistry, cover slipping; document results.
• Manage daily workload for recuts, stains, and controls per protocols.
• Support pathologists during procedures; ensure compliance with standards.
